DILTON Marsh Primary School pupil, Shannon Pierce, who recently took part in a sponsored silence, staying silent for a whole school day, raised £277.55 in aid of Fairfield Farm College’s indoor horse area project.
10-year-old Shannon took part in the sponsored silence from 9am to 3pm whilst at school, back in March. Encouraged by her dad to do something, who has also raised money for the project, Shannon decided, as she is a bit of a chatterbox, to take part in the challenge.
Debbie Hughes, charity fundraising manager at Fairfield Farm College said, “Shannon describes herself as ‘chatty and bubbly,’ so this was a real challenge for her. She wanted to do something to raise funds for the college and in particular to support the new indoor horse arena project, which will directly benefit the students.
“Shannon has raised an amazing £277.55 for the college through her sponsored silence, which is fantastic. A huge thank you to Shannon for wanting to do this and supporting the work of the college.”
