WESTBURY and District u3a were due to celebrate their 10 year anniversary last year but had to postpone due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The organisers report, “With all our fingers crossed we are planning to hold a late celebration combined with an open event on August 21st at the Paragon Hall, Westbury.
“Government restrictions allowing, we hope to showcase what our organisation does as there has been feedback that the name u3a including the word University can be misleading, as there are no classrooms nor exams! We are focusing on our motto: Learn, Laugh, Live which, as a group, we do very well. If you would like to save the date, 21st August, then – as we make further plans about timing and how the day will run – we will update you either in this newspaper or via local posters and flyers.
“Please check out the National u3a website www.u3a.org.uk/ to find out more about what you can expect from your local u3a branch in Westbury.”
