COMMITTEE members are needed to bolster Westbury Youth Club’s bid of becoming a registered charity and getting more funding.
Leader, Beth Mullins, said, “The youth club is currently a not-for-profit organisation and the committee is looking at us registering as a charity. This will give us more options when it comes to funding and support.
“Currently there are a select few funders that will fund not-for-profit. The options we will have if we were to register as a charity will be much greater, which will result in greater benefits for the club.
“To do this we need a few more committee members to secure the future as a charity. We are looking for people who have a passion for the local community and young people.”
Appointed committee members will change to trustees if the club becomes a registered charity and will need to be able to give at least two hours a month to attend a monthly meeting currently held via Microsoft Teams.
Beth said, “This may change if and when all members are comfortable to hold a face-to-face meeting.
“There is the option to give more time if a person can, to take on extra tasks such as attending grant meetings to represent us and highlight what we do.
“We have grown with success in the last 12 months, securing funding for two paid members of staff to ensure we can continue to run through all the challenges the last year has brought us.
