THE Westbury and District Link Scheme has been shortlisted for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2013 and needs your vote.
By encouraging local people to vote the Westbury and District Link Scheme has a chance to be awarded a £3,000 grant from Lloyds bank to enable it to continue doing good work in the Westbury community.
The Link scheme is a well-known and popular local charity. Last year its volunteer drivers covered 50,000 miles taking people with no other means of transport, shopping, to medical appointments and to visit family and friends. This included 500 journeys to the RUH and nearly a thousand journeys to the new health centre. Link is hugely important to the local community.
John Adams, chair of the Link scheme said, “The Lloyds Bank Community Fund could make a huge difference to Westbury and District Link Scheme by enabling us to continue making a difference to the lives of hundreds of vulnerable people in the area. We have a fantastic team of volunteers and we’re among the top-performing Link schemes in the whole of Wiltshire, which we’re immensely proud of. But we need everyone to support us now by voting.”
The Lloyds Bank Community Fund is helping local people across England and Wales to have a positive impact at the hearts of their communities by giving grants to over 1,300 local good causes in villages, towns and cities across England and Wales.
There are four local good causes in each community and each will receive an award. Two local good causes from each community will receive £3,000 each, with the other two receiving awards of £300 each.
