A NEW music festival has been launched by a Westbury couple, inspired by Westbury teenager Rick Mills, who died at the age of 19.
Jayne Abbott and her husband Phillip are staging Rickfest in memory of Jayne’s son, who died in 2002 after a tragic accident.
Rick loved music and was a huge Bon Jovi fan. A fitting tribute will come from the festival’s headliner, tribute band Bon Giovi, who will dedicate a special song to Rick during their performance.
Rickfest will be a small, family friendly charity music festival at Lime Tree Farm, Kington Langley, on Friday and Saturday 5th and 6th of July. Profits will go to the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
Jayne, who is a support worker for the charity, said, “Rick was a wonderful young man who inspired everyone who knew him. It is our vision to delight and inspire all who attend this fantastic music event, so come along and make this a truly magical experience and play an important role in helping families with a sick child.”
Music at the event will be played on two stages and the festival has an exciting line‐up of artists booked, including: Kristin Diable (from the US), Katey Brooks, Reg Meuross, Alice Offley, Innes Sibun, The Adam Rose Band, Terhi, The Corporations, Lightning Hoboes, A‐Heads, Hellfire, Stephane Delgard, Thee Ones, Triple JD, Acoustic Junkies, Hiding Place (KT Whitehouse & John Clarke), Tula Tula Piknik Orkestra, Jess Vincent, Man In A Hat, WhatFlag.
This is a ticket‐only event, purchased in advance. Tickets are available now. Full details, prices and order form are available on the website www.rickfest.org.
