WESTBURY Lions and Leos joined forces earlier this month to clean and tidy the town.
Lion Doreen Pearce, who has been a member of Westbury Lions for over 20 years organised the event.
“It went very well and the weather was very kind to us,” she said. “We had a lot of young people turn up from the Guides as well as Westbury Leos which was great.
“We did collect a fair amount of rubbish which was quite surprising as I always thought the town was quite clean. But once you start looking and picking up litter, you realise how much there is.
“With all the budget cuts, the council don’t have the funds to spend on litter picking so it would be nice if more people put their rubbish in the bin.”
