WESTBURY Police are warning residents to be more vigilant after an increase in the number of garage burglaries.
On the Westbury Police Facebook page it said, “There has been an increase in burglaries from garages in the area.
“These are mostly opportunistic, happening when the garage doors are left open and the owner is distracted by gardening or other household tasks.
“Please keep your garage door closed at all times or thieves may treat this as a shop window and help themselves to your hard earned goods.”
