The Rotary Club of Westbury is starting a new year with the election of Jim Heath, who has replaced Cavan Algar as club president.
In the coming year the president is hoping to raise funds for Julia’s House children’s hospice, Hope for Tomorrow, and other Rotary charities at home and internationally.
Club member and local councillor Sue Ezra said, “During the year we will be holding a town quiz, international cuisine evening and the Imber Ultra Marathon. We will also be speaking to Matravers School to involve them in the Youth Speaks and Young Chef competitions.
“Rotary will be appearing in various events around the town and local villages, and will be involved in a carol concert near Christmas as well as the Christmas Tree Festival.
“When the club is having speakers on various topics, dates will be advertised in the White Horse News.”
