THE yarnbombers who turned Fairfield Farm College into a woolly wonderland have nowtransformed the display into blankets for the homeless.
The yarnbombing display delighted visitors over the summer months, helping to raise £522.80 for the college’s indoor equestrian arena project.
Lynne Vercoe, member of the Woolly Wednesday club who were behind the colourful display said, “Since the summer, when the display was taken down, all the squares have been washed and taken apart. Then we started the timeconsuming task of turning them back into blankets and we are grateful for all the help that has been given to achieve this.
“The first completed blankets will shortly be given to a charity that works with the homeless. We also have a parcel of scarfs and knitted hats and gloves to pass on.
“A coat stand that was yarn-bombed is in the café at Fairfield Farm College and is a collection point for anyone who would like to donate scarfs and hats to the cause.”
The Woolly Wednesday club meet in the Fairfield Farm Café every Wednesday. For more information please contact the college on 01373 823028 for further details.
