WESTBURY and District Link Scheme urgently needs more volunteers to take on regular tasks such as helping with weekly shopping or taking people for doctors’ or hospital appointments.
The scheme is an important and extremely successful local community initiative and last year saw volunteers cover 50,000 miles supporting local people.
If you don’t drive but are able to use a computer, they also need volunteers to act as telephone coordinators – people who answer clients’ calls – training and ongoing support is given.
