THE Dilton Dash raised a total of £644 for the Dilton Marsh Pre-school, but a surprise donation on the day of the cheque presentation saw that amount rocket up.
Organisers of the Dilton Dash, Tracey Hyde and Adam Firks, along with runners from the event, met with staff from Dilton Marsh Pre-school to present them with a cheque for the grand total of £644.25.
The amount raised included sponsorship money collected by seven year-old Jacob Mead who ran the 3km race with his mum, and from Cameron Mead, aged 13, who ran the 3km to support his sister who goes to the pre-school.
At the presentation event the crowd was surprised when nine year-old Arthur Hughes, who ran the 3km, arrived with an extra £100 collected from sponsorship, bringing the grand total to £744.
The money raised will go towards helping to update the exterior and interior of the pre-school.
