IT’S been a busy few months at the Westbury Shed with the allotment growing rapidly, the workshop one a huge success and the Shed project well under way.
Group organiser Dan Gmaj reports, “Friday 30th June saw our second full committee meeting of the year and the Westbury Shed 2017 Chairman’s Awards given to Max Newell and Chris Baker for their invaluable Shed leading at our workshop and allotments. Shed groups simply cannot run without volunteer Shed leaders and it is vital to keep our twice-weekly sessions open for business as usual, so a massive thank you to them.
“Our allotment, with its ‘Shedicine’-like qualities, new poly-tunnel and fresh veg on offer is actually proving to be a life-giving force!
“Our ‘workshop one’ is amazing so we are well under way with our brand new ‘Grassacres Shed’ project. With £4,800 already secured and allocated to the project, we are getting very close to starting, but any good ideas or charitable contributions to this fund would be gratefully received indeed.
“We will be at the Larkrise Community Farm Fete on Saturday 22nd July from 10am-4pm, so please do pop by and say hello.”
