WESTBURY United have started the campaign well with two wins and a draw, which currently sees them at the top of the table.
The solid start from Westbury United has given them a confidence boost at the beginning of the season, but manager Neil Kirkpatrick says there’s still a lot more to come from his players and they are still yet to click fully into gear.
Speaking ahead of their first away match against Corsham Town, Neil said, “We’re pleased with how the season has started but it’s still very early days. It’s a huge boost in confidence and now the other teams are talking us up, but they will come at us with more determination, which we will need to be ready for.
“We had a slight scare with Dan Kovacs who suffered a suspected knee injury in the 2-2 draw against Malmesbury, but luckily he was fine and played against Radstock. Although, we are fortunate that we have three or four great strikers who could play – but of course we are relieved that he’s not injured as he has had a great start to the season.
“The games are coming thick and fast, with games at the weekend and in the week until November and there isn’t a lot of time for recovery for the lads, but everyone is in the same boat and it is what it is. We just have to make sure we are fit and focused.
“We are a young side and we have a long season ahead, so as pleased as I am with our start and the position we are at, we can’t get ahead of ourselves, we’re still very much a work in progress.”
