PLANNING permission has been granted for 300-homes to be built on land north of Bitham Park.
The application was approved on 18th September by Wiltshire Council.
The decision follows an appeal that was made after the application was turned down in March 2015 on the grounds that the site would spread out of Westbury’s development boundary, would hinder traffic on primary routes, and would be detrimental to the beauty of the area. At the time it was opposed by Westbury Town Council and Heywood Parish Council.
The development, to be built by Robert Hitchins Ltd, will consist of 300 dwellings with associated infrastructure, parking, landscaping, a public open space and a neighbourhood equipped area of play.
