All Saints Church in Westbury is holding an afternoon of Scalextric fun on Saturday 20th July between 2pm and 6pm.
Organisers say, “You can race your own cars (at your own risk) or try out one of ours. Micro Scalextric will also be available. Refreshments will be available. We are hoping to have a selection of different tracks for people to try including a drag race. There will be a small entry charge. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
“We were going to hold this event in February, but sadly we had to cancel because of the snow. Hopefully the weather in June will be a bit better!”
The church is also hosting its weekly term time First Steps to Worship Toddler Service, which recently celebrated its 29th birthday.
The group reports, “For the past 29 years this friendly little group has been running in the children’s corner of All Saints Church in Westbury every Wednesday in term time. We now have children attending whose parents were original members when they themselves were children. The children enjoy a little Bible story and singing followed by refreshments, a chat and a chance to run around the church. The group starts at 9.30am and lasts for one hour.”
