THE Westbury Youth Club graffiti event at Grassacres Park has been rescheduled to 10am Saturday 18th June following the bad weather last weekend.
Last week, Westbury Youth Club, run by Beth Mullins at WCP and TEAM10, the Youth Community Group from Westbury Junior School, joined forces to ‘white-out’ the old graffiti wall at Grassacre Park in preparation for the big day on Saturday 18th June, where Tom Miller, local artist, will be holding a public event to paint a fresh mural on the wall.
Over 30 committed children got together on two separate days to prepare and undercoat the wall with two coats of white masonry paint after both groups had expressed a desire to reinstate the graffiti mural and Beth Mullins was able to secure funding and equipment.
The wall was unfortunately vandalised after being prepared by the children with a coat of white paint, and Westbury Youth Club organisers have said they “simply won’t have the funds to cover it” if vandalism happens again.
