Bratton School Eco Club community litter pick

The pupils of Bratton School’s Eco Club are conducting a weekly litter pick of the park and surrounding areas near their school.  

Every Tuesday lunchtime, a rotating group of Eco Club members, under the guidance of Mrs Midgley and Mrs Bowden, don their high visibility vests and gloves to clean up the local environment. 

Louise Bunce, the school’s publicity officer, said, “The project will give every student in the Eco Club the opportunity to participate and contribute towards keeping our environment clean and beautiful. We believe that this hands-on experience will not only benefit the local community but also help our students develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment. 

“The Eco Club’s efforts in maintaining a clean and sustainable environment are commendable, and we believe that instilling these values in our students is crucial for their holistic development. We appreciate the support of families in encouraging their children to actively participate and promote environmental awareness and responsibility.  

“All children and staff have been issued with all the equipment they need including litter pickers, gloves and high vis vests, all kindly donated by IdVerde and Wiltshire Council.

“Together, we can make a difference in creating a greener and cleaner community for all.”
