Local women skydive for Jason’s rehabilitation fund

Two local women have skydived from 10,000 feet to raise money for a friend who sustained life-changing injuries after being electrocuted by a 33,000-volt overhead power cable while cleaning windows. 

Cerise Quadling and Angela Couch jumped on Sunday in Salisbury and have so far raised over £1,600 for Westbury window cleaner Jason Knight and his family. 

The accident in April resulted in Jason being airlifted to Southmead Hospital, where his left forearm was immediately amputated. Since then, he has undergone more than 20 operations, including the amputation of five toes and the removal of tendons and muscles from his legs, which has left him unable to walk. 

Cerise and Angela’s fundraising will support his rehabilitation and contribute to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Southmead Hospital Charity, which played crucial roles in saving his life. 

“It was the most magical experience we have both ever had and one we will truly remember!” said Cerise. “What made it even better was having Jason himself there watching!” 

“We’ve never done anything like this before and aren’t usually very adventurous. But a skydive was on our bucket list, so when Jason had the accident, it was a no-brainer to do it to raise money for him and those who helped save him. 

“We’re so pleased our fundraising can support Jason and his family. It’s a privilege to know them and an honour to do this for someone who has brought so much life, love, and laughter into our lives. 

“As much as we think we are being courageous, this is absolutely nothing compared to what Jason has been through and is still going through. He is a true inspiration, and we feel honoured to be able to help. 

“The Knights are a beautiful, strong family in need of our help. Any donations, big or small, will mean so much to us!”
