Police take to Westbury on bikes to improve visibility

Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team have taken to the streets of Westbury on bikes this month as part of a new initiative aimed at enhancing their visibility and accessibility within the community. 

The initiative sees officers cycling around Westbury to build stronger relationships with residents, with the aim of fostering a safer environment for all. 

PCSO Roland Revers from the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team, which covers Westbury, explained, “This method not only facilitates access to different neighbourhoods but also allows officers to connect with residents in a more personal and approachable manner. 

“The presence of officers on bikes underscores our commitment to strengthening relationships and creating a safer, more cohesive environment for everyone in the community.” 

He added, “The Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team remains actively engaged in various initiatives to address the needs and concerns of our communities. 

“To enhance public safety, we utilise multiple modes of transport, including walking, cycling and driving, to engage with local businesses and residents. 

“This approach enables us to better understand community issues and tailor our support accordingly, reinforcing our dedication to proactive policing and community engagement.”
