Westbury’s annual Boxing Day Dog Walk saw 27 enthusiastic walkers gather at the Horse & Groom pub for a festive stroll through the countryside.
The event kicked off with complimentary tea and coffee before heading to The Duke at Bratton.
“The weather was kind to us this year, adding to the enjoyment of the scenic route,” said Carol Musker, landlady at Horse & Groom. “Quite a few dogs managed to find the puddles, stagnant water in the ditches and of course the ‘horse/cow’ deposits in the fields so the hosepipe saw plenty of action after returning to the H&G!
“We had two couples travel to join in the festivities; one couple who have moved away to Hertfordshire and one couple from Southampton who were keen to take part in the what has become a popular local tradition in the town and reconnect with us here at the Horse & Groom.”
30 people then enjoyed a sumptuous brunch, with donations being made to the Lions Club of Westbury, along with Carol herself.
