A new path is being built at Penleigh Park to improve accessibility and allow residents to enjoy the space all year round.
Work by Westbury Town Council has begun on the new tarmacked walking path, which is designed to link with the existing network of footpaths.
“The upgrade will enable residents to enjoy the park throughout the year, offering a safer and more accessible route for walking, wellbeing activities and everyday enjoyment of the green space,” said David Krzyzosiak, Senior Community Ranger at Westbury Town Council.
“As part of the works, the soil excavated for the paths will be reused on site to create a series of landscaped bunds, adding topographic interest to the park.
“These mounded areas will provide opportunities for imaginative play and will also be developed into a wildflower area, forming an attractive feature within the new wildlife garden which is aimed to start shortly after the tarmacked paths are completed.”
The work is expected to be completed by the end of April. For more information, contact info@westburytowncouncil.gov.uk or 01373 822232.
