Mental health and community support are set to be a focus for Westbury’s Mayor after three local organisations were selected as her chosen charities for the 2026/27 civic year.
Mayor Carole King has chosen to support Crosspoint, a charity providing an affordable counselling service in Westbury, Man Down, a group that meets in Westbury to support men with mental health challenges, and the White Horse Community Hub, a community space in the centre of town.
Throughout her term of office, Cllr King will work closely with these organisations, helping to raise awareness of their work within the community and raise funds to support them.
“I have chosen two preventative mental health groups: one providing counselling through Crosspoint and the other, Man Down, a new group that meets at The Laverton,” said Cllr King. “I am also going to support the White Horse Community Hub, previously known as the Parish Church Hall. This was the venue where my children attended toddler and playgroups in the 1980s and 1990s and it has hosted so many community groups and events over the years. I wish them every success in their transformation.
“I am delighted to support these three organisations during my year as mayor and I look forward to helping raise awareness of their work and encouraging the community to support them wherever possible.”
