After a fast paced and evenly matched 1st half in which both teams played some excellent football and both goalkeepers kept the score at 0-0, Westbury endured a terrible 2nd half that saw them concede four goals and have keeper Callum Hotine stretchered off.
Hotine and his opposite number Lewis Coombes excelled in the opening period as numerous chances were created by flowing football on a slick pitch. Hotine did very well to deny Adam Crooks, Liam McCaughey, Lewis Fricker and Callum Biggins, while at the other end Coombes made fine saves from Steven Bryant and Mark Young.
Unfortunately it was Hotine who erred straight after half time when he allowed Ben Bament’s low 25 yarder to sneak into the net.
The hosts stepped up a gear and put United under severe pressure and, after Nathan Hallett-Young had headed against his own crossbar, Fricker crossed the ball to the unmarked Leon Britton and he easily made it 2-0 on 62.
Westbury had a few opportunities to reduce their deficit but Josh Maguire was off target and Simon Millard ran from halfway before choosing to pass rather than go direct for goal. With eight minutes remaining Hotine sustained his injury in the build up to the 3rd goal which was finished by Lee Delaney and, after a long delay, Adam Collington donned the gloves but was helpless as Delaney added the final goal deep into injury time.
