A local theatre arts school has started the new year with renewed energy, welcoming new students and continuing its mission to give people of all ages “A Chance To Sparkle”.
A.C.T.S., established in September 2011, has built a strong reputation for high-quality performing arts training for young people aged six to 17. Sessions are held on Saturday mornings at Warminster Prep School, offering weekly tuition in drama, dance and singing, as well as regular workshops exploring all aspects of theatre.
“After last term’s visit to Oz (striking while the iron was hot with ‘Wicked’) we have kicked off again for the new year and are welcoming new students,” said founder and director Chris Turner.
“Since opening 15 years ago, we have had students go off to performing arts schools around the country, including the likes of the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School and Italia Conti.
“And as you may have read in the Warminster Journal last month, one of our ex-students, Lyra Kane has recently appeared in Channel 4’s ‘Patience’ and Netflix’s ‘Seven Dials’, based on the Agatha Christie novel.
“Many of our students can also be seen performing in local productions, with the Athenaeum being a frequent showcase for their talents.
“Our staff are highly qualified professionals with real life experience in their field, performing from West End to Salisbury! Their industry background helps students develop confidence, creativity and performance skills in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.”
