THE final line-up for Airwaves festival has been announced – with Gabrielle Aplin and Jack Savoretti on the bill.

Gabrielle Aplin

The stars are joined by a host of local acts, along with Scouting for Girls, KT Tunstall and The Wurzels.

The festival, held entirely on BBC Radio Wiltshire, runs from Friday until Sunday.

Jack Savoretti plays on Friday at 4.30pm and Gabrielle Aplin, from Chippenham, plays at the same time on Saturday. The full line-up is below.

Jack Savoretti

Speaking on BBC Radio Wiltshire yesterday Gabrielle said she was looking forward it, joking: “It’s nice to make myself useful!”

She added that playing festivals usually presented more of a challenge.

“There’s no sound check and there’s no guarantee people will come watch you, people haven’t bought tickets to come see you specifically,” she said.

“A lot of people won’t know who you are and that’s always nice too – it’s an opportunity to try and win people over.”

Other acts announced on the line-up include Lottie J, Kate Lomas, Glen Matlock and Alice Offley. Wiltshire’s ‘biggest ever pub quiz’ will be broadcast during the festival at 7pm on Saturday.

Previously announced acts include, DJ Goldierocks and the Urban Soul Orchestra, Basil Brush, comedian Ivo Graham and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth.

Marie Lennon, BBC Radio Wiltshire presenter and festival curator, said: “There are just a few days to go until Airwaves kicks off and we can’t wait to get stuck in! More than 30 incredible acts have signed up to bring you music from 10am every day – it’s going to be an amazing weekend, especially with sunny skies forecast!”

To find out more about the festival go to www.bbc.co.uk/radiowiltshire, where you can also sign up to get regular updates and exclusive downloadable souvenirs.

Tune in to BBC Radio Wiltshire on 103.5-104.3FM, DAB, online and on the BBC Sounds app.
