THERE’S a whole host of entertainment coming up at the Memorial Theatre in the coming weeks – get the dates in your diary so you don’t miss out.

On Saturday 23rd July, at 7.30pm, the theatre welcomes Joe Longthorne – No Regrets, to Frome.

This talented artist began his career over three decades ago with appearances on Junior Showtime, and a grounding on the tough northern club circuit. His break came in 1981 as a finalist on London Weekend Television’s Search for a Star – leading to appearances at the London Palladium and The Talk of the Town. Joe soon received the Variety Club of Britain award for Most Promising Artiste of the Year. Television specials followed.

Joe’s endless repertoire of voices includes hundreds of top singers. He is perhaps best known for his impersonation of Shirley Bassey who commented, “Joe can do me better than I can do myself”.

Joe has received gold and platinum discs for his albums, and enjoyed sell-out concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. Now, Joe is looking forward to new challenges, new songs, and new audiences to thrill. Tickets cost £22.

Spellbound present, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from Thursday 4th -Saturday 6th August at 7pm, plus a matinee performance at 2pm on Saturday 6th.

Join Joseph and his coat of many colours on this biblical epic featuring a score of well known songs and fantastic dances performed by an incredibly talented cast of 60 under 16s from Frome and surrounding areas. Tickets cost £12, conc £11, under 16s £9, groups 10+ £9.

On Sunday 14th August at 4pm, Norté Promotions presents Family Cosplay Cabaret as part of the Frome Comic Con.

For one day only, the comic and the movie world’s favourite superheroes will be visiting Frome. As well as all the exciting things happening throughout the town, there is a family show talking place at 4pm at Frome Memorial Theatre.

Here you will see superheroes performing amazing feats such as contortion, fire and lights shows, acrobatics and circus as well as many other talents that will amaze you.

Can you join forces with some of the mightiest heroes to defeat their evil enemy? Tickets cost £10, under 16s £8, family of four (max two adults) £32.

Then on Friday 2nd September at 7.30pm, tribute band Abba – Forever comes to Frome.

The unique ABBA look and sound is replicated with an incredible attention to detail as the beautiful lyrics penned by Benny and Bjorn are sung in wonderful harmony by all six performers on stage.

Dynamic non-stop chor-eography, stunning visuals, top-class musicianship and an all live  performance ensures that the ABBA – Forever show captivates audiences from the opening refrain to the final sing-along chorus of this two-hour spectacular.  Tickets: £19.50, conc £18.50.
