A local charity, which holds regular support sessions for unpaid carers in Westbury, is set to close in March.
Carer Support Wiltshire will close on 31st March due to ‘significant funding challenges.’
The charity currently hosts a regular Carer Cafe support group at Westbury Methodist Church.
A spokesperson from the charity said, “The cafes will be continuing as planned until the end of March. We will be speaking to other local organisations to see if they would like to continue the cafes after this date.
“The closure is due to ongoing and significant funding challenges which mean that, despite having explored all viable options to secure the future of the organisation, the charity is no longer able to operate in a financially sustainable way.
“Over the next couple of months, we will focus on bringing our services to a close in a planned and thoughtful way and we will seek to manage the process responsibly and with care for those affected. Where possible, we will work with partners to support carers during this transition, and we will ensure clear and timely communication throughout the closure period.”
