A local half marathon has raised more than £20,000 for the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance since it was first held.
The Avon Valley Runners (AVR) Wiltshire Half Marathon, which starts in Edington, contributed over £1,000 to the charity at the 2025 event. Two members of the air ambulance crew, pilot Elvis Costello and paramedic Matt Metcalf, also took part in the race in their full kit.
Race director and co-Chair of Avon Valley Runners, Vicky Bodman, said, “Reaching over £20,000 in donations is a fantastic milestone, and we’re grateful to everyone who supports the AVR Wiltshire Half Marathon.
“We are incredibly proud to have supported such an important local cause over many years. As a club, we feel passionately about supporting and engaging with the local community, and Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance is a cause that is close to many of our members’ hearts.”
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance provides critical medical care by land and air, relying entirely on donations to fund its lifesaving service.
The race will return this year on Sunday 29th November. For more information, visit www.avonvalleyrunners.org.uk
