ORGANISERS have hailed Westbury’s very first Oktoberfest a huge success with over 200 people coming from all over Wiltshire to sample what was on offer.
Bruce Hewitson who organised the event along with Bob Musker, Andy Murray and Terry Stone, said, “It was a huge success, far better than we expected. By 5pm, the German lager barrels were empty, with the other beers also proving very popular.
“Visitors came from all over Wiltshire and one oficianado from Devizes, who attends beer festivals regularly, said it was fantastic.
“Other highlights were the entertainers – all local Westbury bands who played the whole day through, starting with the MGB, followed by Just the Two of Us and finally Stamp who played to the close.
“There is no doubt that the Westbury Oktoberfest will be back next year such was the success of this year’s event. We will be meeting soon to discuss how to make next year’s event bigger and better.
“We would like to thank all those people who attended and we will see you all again next year!”
