A member of the Westbury Neighbourhood Policing Team recently joined a youth organisation on a patrol to engage with more young people in the town.
PC Rebecca Walsh joined Carly and Emma, who work for 4Youth, on a patrol through Westbury Town Centre, Penleigh Park, and Grassacres Park to engage and build relationships with young people in the community.
“The focus of the engagement is to speak with young people in the area, build positive relationships, and offer support and guidance where needed,” said a spokesperson from Westbury Police.
4Youth is a youth organisation that supports young people, particularly those aged between 8 and 25, to build confidence, resilience, and life skills through youth clubs, activities, outreach work, and wellbeing services such as counselling.
Foot patrols form part of 4Youth’s regular engagement in Westbury. They take place every Tuesday between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
“It was a pleasure for the Neighbourhood Policing Team to accompany Carly and Emma during the evening’s patrol and to support this ongoing partnership work,” said the spokesperson.
