A group of children from Westbury Junior School have hidden painted rocks in local parks for members of the community to find.
Members of the school’s community support group, TEAM10, which is made up of former and current pupils of the school, have hidden stones with colourful paintings and positive messages in Penleigh and Grassacres Park. Members of the community are encouraged to find the stones and keep or re-hide them.
“The team’s aim is to spread a little happiness after all the dark and rainy months and to encourage the community to go out and enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces the town has to offer,” said Susannah Duval, TEAM10 coordinator.
“I continue to be amazed at how resilient and committed the team are in their contribution to the community of Westbury.
“They show such enthusiasm and dedication, in all weathers, to help improve the environment around them and work for their community, with the ongoing support of Westbury and Wiltshire Council.”
TEAM10 is a voluntary committee of children whose aim is to help improve the environment of, and support community initiatives in, Westbury. Their projects include planting with Westbury Town Council, painting murals, litter picking, conducting surveys in the local parks, fundraising at Christmas fairs, cake, toy, lolly and hot chocolate sales, and running a charity car wash.
