On Sunday 14th September, four hardy souls from Westbury Walkers braved a dire weather forecast to complete an eight and a quarter mile walk.
Setting off from Bratton, the group, led by David Brown, passed by the medieval well of St Catherine, proceeding up Church Lane, past Bratton’s community orchard, past the church and then made a long, steep diagonal ascent up to Bratton Camp.
From here, the Westbury White Horse was visited and then on to see the metal sculptures, before joining the White Horse Trail. Passing the Military Vedette, the group then headed to a windswept Picquet Hill for a very quick lunch break before descending through Long Hollow, skirting Edington and back to Bratton. Wonderful views throughout, and just a little light rain near the end.
