An old toilet block in a Westbury park has been transformed with a colourful mural created by a local man hoping to brighten the area for families and children.
Thomas Parfitt has created the mural at Grassacres Park with a Gruffalo-inspired woodland theme.
The Westbury resident reached out to the town council to discuss the project after noticing that the old toilets could “do with some care.”
Created using donated aerosol paint and completed during a volunteering day from his employer, the mural features characters inspired by the popular children’s book.
“I was granted a gratitude day from my work, Aspire Defence Services Limited, and with Wiltshire and Westbury councils’ blessing, popped a mural up,” said Thomas.
“I thought I’d pick a well-known character as the level of people through the park is large. All the aerosol paint has been donated to me so there was no cost to the public, so I just hope it’s enjoyed.”
Thomas still has paint left over and is hoping to complete more projects in the town in the future, including one at Westbury Junior School.
