West Wilts ramblers have a number of walks planned over the next few weeks. These include:
Cherhill Down & Calstone Wellington. Wednesday 1 February, 10am. A moderate 8 mile / 12.9 km walk. Meet at Smallgrain car park, off A361 Devizes – Calne Road. Bring lunch.
Seagry. Sunday 5 February. 10am. A moderate 10 mile / 16.1 km walk. Upper Seagry, Rodbourne, Startley, Great Somerford & Dauntsey House. Meet at Seagry C of E School, Upper Seagry. Take left turn (west) at sign for school before crossroads. Bring lunch.
Corsley & Chapmanslade. Wednesday 8 February, 10am. A moderate 6 mile / 9.7 km walk. Via Rodden Brook and Corsley Heath. Meet and park at St Margaret’s church, Corsley (can be reached from A3098 Chapmanslade or A362 Corsley Heath). Bring snack.
Edington & The Ashtons. Sunday 12 February , 10am. A moderate 11 mile / 17.7 km walk. Bratton, La Farge works, Dunge, East Town and Steeple Ashton. Meet at Edington Priory – park on grass verge round the corner on Steeple Ashton Road. Bring lunch.
Mells, Great Elm & Vallis Vale. Wednesday 15 February, 10am. A moderate 7 mile / 11.3 km walk. Some muddy riverside paths. Meet and park in village, near Talbot Inn. Bring lunch.
Downland Walk With Views Of The Chalke Valley. Sunday 19 February, 10am. A moderate 11 mile / 17.7 km walk. Broad Chalke to Knighton Hill, Bishopstone and Old Shaftesbury Drove. Meet at car park (free) by All Saints Church, The Causeway, Broad Chalke. Bring lunch.
Sherston & Westonbirt. Wednesday, 22 February. Start time 10am. Moderate 8 miles / 12.9 km. Walk takes in part of Westonbirt Arboretum. Meet at Sherston church and please park considerately. Bring lunch.
