WESTBURY Heritage Society is marking a special birthday, its 25th anniversary and everyone is invited for tea and cake to celebrate on Saturday 7th October, 10am-4pm.
As well as celebrating. it’s a chance to find out more about the history of the town with a range of activities, exhibitions and a special competition for all the family to enjoy. Visitors can learn more about the White Horses of Wiltshire, see artefacts not usually on display, and test your local knowledge.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the society is hosting a fascinating talk by David Dawson, director of the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society. He will be talking about the county’s famous White Horse hill figures including our very own Westbury White Horse. Everyone is welcome. The talk takes place on Tuesday 10th October at the Methodist Church in Station Road at 7.30pm.
