Christmas arrives early in Westbury on Saturday 1st December. The town council is planning a day of festive fun for all ages and it’s set to include the most dazzling Christmas lights switch-on yet!
Martin Dawson, events coordinator at Westbury Town Council says, “The day begins with a children’s fun fair in the High Street from 11am, so bring the little ones along and keep them entertained on a fantastic assortment of rides.
“A Christmas market will run from 3pm to 9pm with craft and food stalls in the Market Place, Edward Street and Maristow Street. This year will see a new indoor market in All Saints Church hall, so come along for a spot of Christmas shopping!
“Keep a look out for the Snow Lion, back by popular demand, roaming the streets during the day, and Christmas in Westbury wouldn’t be complete without Santa’s grotto which will be in the Market Place from 3pm-5pm.
“Music and entertainment begin in the Market Place at 5pm with AWL Dance, Frome Street Bandits, Mollie Green and the Will Blake Band providing great tunes until 8.30pm. Come prepared for a good old fashioned sing-a-long!
“They’ll also be an amazing video screening with some recognisable faces to keep you entertained, with the lights switch-on at 7pm.
“Businesses in the town centre have again been invited to enter into the Christmas spirit by taking part in the annual Christmas Shop Window competition.
“The town council is looking forward to seeing lots of town residents enjoying the festive fun.”
