Westbury Ladies rugby team are inviting women over the age of 18 to an Inner Warrior event on 11th September.
Allianz Inner Warrior is England Rugby’s campaign to help clubs recruit female players. Warrior Camps are designed as a great introduction to rugby for those who have never played, or those who want to get back involved, and encourage more women and girls to play rugby.
Since they started, they have provided more than 20,000 women and girls with the opportunity to take part in rugby across England.
“Warrior Camps are great fun and hugely rewarding, encouraging you to challenge yourself and learn new skills alongside other like-minded females,” says the club. “Team sports and group activities are also a fantastic way to stay motivated with fitness training and provide a great outdoor alternative.
“Warrior Camps also welcome back any players who previously hung up their boots for a few seasons; a perfect opportunity to find a club, make new friends and ease back into the game.”
Westbury Ladies’ camp kicks off at 10am at Westbury RFC’s Knott Field, BA13 4LU. Ladies are encouraged to come in gym clothes, trainers and to bring a water bottle. There will be lots of rugby fun and plenty of current players on hand to answer any questions. After training there will be an informal BBQ lunch and social.
Westbury Ladies are encouraging anyone interested in trying rugby or who has previously played to come along and find out more. More information can be found on Westbury RFC’s social media @westburyrfc.
