Westbury’s Jay Able made an impressive start to his 2026 season at the first NG Road Racing meeting of the year, held at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 21st–22nd March.
Riding his Yamaha YZF-R6 in the National 600 class, Jay opened his campaign with a third-place finish in the first race, followed by fourth in the second, and rounded off the weekend with a superb second-place podium in the final race. Those results put him second overall in the championship standings.
“It was a great weekend and I’m really pleased with the results,” said Jay. “After a couple of years of ups and downs, with bike issues stopping me from getting consistent finishes, it’s good to get things going again. If we can keep the bike reliable, I’m hoping to finish in the top three this year in the National 600s.”
Jay also thanked the local businesses who have supported him including EG Martin Heating Oil Ltd., NL Motor Services, Rogers Poultry Services, All Drainage Services, DPN Cars, Phoenix Motorcycles, T. Deacon Fencing Ltd., Smiths Engine Services, DRC Race Leathers and Westbury Motors Ltd.
