EX- Westbury United players have come back to the club to form a veteran team that will be competing in the Mid Wiltshire County Veterans League.
The Vets team is made up of returning Westbury United players who are 35+ year old.
The chairman of the club, Sam Gooding said, “We’ve just joined the Wiltshire County Vets League and it’s made up mostly of over 35s who have played or had experience with the club, in one way or another.
“Their first league game will take place on Monday 5th September and judging by the few friendlies they’ve played so far; I think they’ll do really well in their league – they’ve certainly got the experience!
“Right now, the team is made up of ex-players, but anyone is welcome to touch base and come along to training. Our oldest player is 48 and he used to captain the first team for many years. His daughter has just joined up to the new-look adult Ladies’ team with Westbury Youth FC, so we really do have a place for everyone here.”
