Local police visited Westbury Junior School recently to showcase the essential work carried out by neighbourhood officers and volunteers in keeping the public safe.
The visit was part of the national Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, during which officers engaged with several schools across the community.
A spokesperson for Westbury Police said, “By fostering these connections, we aim to strengthen our role as a supportive partner to local educational institutions, emphasising the importance of collaboration in promoting a secure environment for all.
“During one of these visits, PCSO Revers had the pleasure of interacting with students and staff at Westbury C of E Junior School. This engagement provided students with a unique opportunity to ask questions about policing and learn more about the daily responsibilities of the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“The pleasant weather added to the experience, as the Q&A session was held outdoors, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for both the officer and the students.
“Overall, the visit was a resounding success, leaving a positive impression on everyone involved. The interaction not only educated young minds about the role of the police but also helped foster a sense of community and trust between officers and the younger generation.”
