North Bradley Computer Club has been awarded funding of £1,250 by ‘UK online centres’ to provide free computer training until September, to primarily provide assistance to carers, but all adults are welcome.
To comply with the funding conditions, new learners will need to register and complete at least six of the short modules on the UK online centre’s website – www.learnmy way.com
Pauline Baxter from North Bradley Computer Club explains, “Our normal weekly session is in the Peace Memorial Hall, North Bradley on a Tuesday 10.30am – 12.00pm, however the modules can be also done from home at a time to suit, once registered. Our friendly volunteer tutors can also help with other issues once the modules are completed; there are also many useful links for job seekers etc within the site.
“Potential learners just need to phone – 01225 765644 – to reserve a place and from then it is a ‘rolling programme’, learners are able to attend as often as they can/need to in order to be confident to ‘go it alone’. Laptops are provided or bring your own if preferred, we can support up to a max of 12 per session, depending on the number of volunteer tutors available (generally in a ratio of 1:2 support). Outreach can be arranged by negotiation. Also welcome are suitable volunteer tutors.”
