Twins from Westbury are set to appear in a new CBeebies show exploring people who grow and work with plants.
Six-year-olds Max and Leo, who attend Bratton Primary School, will feature in two episodes of the children’s show What’s in your Plant Pot?
The duo were selected for the show after their mum, Rebecca, saw a post on Facebook advertising the opportunity.
“I had to make a video where the boys answered five questions about gardening, which I sent in,” said Rebecca. “Both of the boys are interested in gardening, especially Leo as he wants to be a gardener when he grows up.
“We were then invited to a community garden in Bristol for the audition where the boys were given some plants and had to answer some questions about it. They were given a basil plant and it gave them some experience of talking in front of cameras.
“We then got told they had been chosen to take part so, in August last year, we went to a TV studio in Brislington where the boys spent two days filming.”
Max and Leo feature in two episodes, Tomatoes and Edible Flowers.
“Max and Leo really enjoyed the experience and thought it was cool,” said Rebecca. “They met different experts in gardening which was interesting.
“As parents, we found it fascinating watching the boys film as it was like getting to be a fly on the wall. We thought they did really well as they were filming for a long time and we thought it was a great experience for the boys as not many six-year-olds can say they have worked with CBeebies!”
Louise Bunce from Bratton Primary School said, “We are all very proud of their achievement and look forward to watching their episodes on CBeebies and continuing their love of gardening adventures within our school setting.”
The episodes are available to watch on iPlayer.
