Westbury Library is celebrating the history of the town’s shops for Local History Month.
There will be history displays, book displays and events throughout May to mark the occasion.
“This year, the team at Westbury Library have been digging into the vaults and found some wonderful photographs of the shops of Westbury from the 1890s onwards,” said a library assistant.
On Thursday 14th May, there will be a drop-in session between 5pm and 6.30pm where people can learn how to access the British Newspaper Archive. The archive has articles dating back to the 1700s and is free to use on library computers for Wiltshire library members.
From 2.30pm until 3.30pm on Thursday 21st May, there will be a Reminiscence Tea and Chat, where residents can come together and share what they remember about the shops of Westbury from past years over a cup of tea.
