The popular Donkey Derby will return to the White Horse Country Park next month, and this year it will be free to attend.
The event will take place on Sunday 14th June from 12pm until 4.30pm.
Local residents can look forward to a day of family fun full of donkey races, donkey rides, a fair, stalls, hot food and a bar.
“The Donkey Derby has been organised by Westbury Lions for many years and remains one of the highlights of the local community calendar,” said Lion Heather Blackley.
“This year, however, the event carries an even more important message: everyone is welcome. In recognition of the difficult financial pressures facing many households, Westbury Lions Club have taken the decision to remove the admission charge entirely for the first time ever, making the event freely accessible to all families and members of the community.
“Westbury Lions Club would like to reassure visitors that the Donkey Derby will still retain the same much-loved format that families have enjoyed over the years – simply without the admission fee. Visitors will still be able to enjoy a full day of attractions, activities, entertainment, stalls and refreshments.”
Sign-up for the donkey races will be available on the day. The Lions are encouraging people to arrive early to register as spaces are limited.
