WESTBURY united manager Matty Bown said he was “proud” of his players after giving runaway leaders Bradford a fright despite several setbacks.
United had to deal with Charlie Walton getting injured in the warm up, Craig Fisher a late withdrawal due to work commitments and their centre-half pulling up injured after five minutes.
The setbacks forced United to make changes to their formation but to their credit they run Bradford close as a second half strike from Sam Jordan sealed the points. Manager Matty Bown said, “I am really proud of the players they have put in a great effort and in my opinion they deserved something from the game as they didn’t create much.
“It took a bit of magic for them to win the game and that’s the difference because on another day we might have nicked something. In truth we didnt create too much as our options were limited but we had a few half chances and got into some good positions. There was plenty of positives from the game and I think it shows how far we have come especially as we have already surpassed the points total we achieved in each of the past three seasons.”
