Inkberrow came from behind with an impressive second-half performance at a wet Meadow Lane.

Both teams played some lovely football on a pitch slickened by heavy rain in the opening half an hour.

Westbury were boosted by Josh Jenkins returning to the club while captain Ryan Bole was able to play for the first time since pre-season.

Home winger Bevan Cross ran half the length of the pitch and sent in a great ball that nobody got on the end of.

Aidan Clark went close twice for the visitors, firstly shooting wide from the edge of the box then heading off target from Connor Stanley’s delivery.

Westbury went ahead on 25 minutes when Jack Witcombe’s deep ball was headed back to Jenkins who volleyed into the top corner!

United defended well on several occasions to deny Stanley then Jay Pugsley forced home keeper Joel Manning into a save before the break.

However within five minutes of the restart a rare Manning error presented Jacob Waterfield with an open goal to equalise ; Manning received the ball from Aaron Witchell but Waterfield charged the keeper down then rolled the ball into the open goal!

Ben Starr always looked likely to create an opening, but like Cross earlier in the game his great ball across the face of goal went unrewarded.

Inkberrow went ahead on 62 when an attack from the right wing created a chance for Pugsley who finished from the edge of the box.

Eben Mortimer-Taylor and Cross had shots blocked then into the last 10 minutes Jake Andrews played in Leighton Thomas who set up Starr, his shot was deflected wide and from the resulting corner Jenkins went to ground in the box but the referee gave nothing ; the visitors counter attacked and sealed victory through Stanley.

In added time Andrews set up Thomas whose off-target shot was the last action of the afternoon.
