VULNERABLE people will be given a helping hand when a new community safety project starts in Westbury.
The Safe Places project which has been funded through the Police and Crime Commissioner, will provide a network of places where people can get help if they are lost or confused. The project, which is already working well in other parts of Wiltshire, could involve shops, community centres and other venues. Those participating will display a distinctive notice to show they offer a safe place. The project is being led by the BA13+ community area partnership with support from the area board and the police.
A working group is now being set up and anyone who’d like to be part of the project should get in touch with Phil McMullen at ba13.partnership@live.co.uk
