THE grass verge on Mane Way heading to Tesco Express has been protected as verge markers have been installed to stop delivery lorries driving onto the area.
In 2018, White Horse News reported that the grass verge had been ‘completely destroyed’ by delivery lorries and cars using it as a parking space.
It was brought to the attention of Westbury Town Council that the delivery lorries were causing the damage as Tesco’s delivery entrance was not kept clear for items to be dropped off.
The town council then wrote to the management agent for the retail units at Palomino Place to request that delivery drivers do not park on the grass. They also contacted Tesco Express asking them to ensure that the other businesses have rear access.
Now, white verge markers have been installed along the grass verge area to stop delivery lorries from parking there.
