A team of eight ‘Morrisons Mates’ all completed the Bath Race For Life 5k challenge on Sunday 14th June, raising over £750 for Cancer Research.
The team consisted of five Westbury Morrisons employees, two former employees and two friends and were sponsored by staff and customers to reach their total. Westbury Morrisons also provided vouchers to help pay for the T-shirts and water/food for after the race, in return the team members wore shirts with the Morrisons logo on the sleeve and back of the shirts.
Team leader and community champion at the Westbury Morrisons, Lisa Litterick said, “The whole team was incredible, supportive and truly came together in the spirit of the day. The day was emotional. We all have different reasons for wanting to take part but a lot of fun was had by all and we are already planning to do next year’s race in some wacky costumes in the hope of beating our fundraising total!
“I also want to take this opportunity to thank those family members that came along to support us on the day and a massive thank you to my husband for taking pictures throughout the day to provide us all with wonderful memories.”
