A LOCAL female choir will be hosting a Concert of Remembrance at Edington Priory Church next month to raise money for the Royal British Legion.
The Philomel Singers from Trowbridge, will be performing at the village church on Saturday 7th November from 7.30pm.
The choir, whose fundraising efforts have raised well in excess of £30,000, are pleased to be joined by The Chippenham Male Voice Choir and two exceptionally talented young violinists, Katherine and Rachel Stonham.
Their programme of a broad and varied repertoire will provide a moving and entertaining evening for this weekend of remembrance.
Secretary Fiona Wood said, “This is a free concert with a retiring collection and The Philomel Singers are looking forward to this special evening of remembrance and in particular being joined by the Chippenham Male Voice Choir and our young violinist friends to provide a memorable concert.
“We always thoroughly enjoy singing in Edington Priory Church and hope that we see plenty of old friends and many new faces in the audience.”
All profits from the concert will be given to The Royal British Legion and refreshments will be available to purchase during the interval. More details about The Philomel Singers can be found on www.philomeltrowbridge. co.uk or from Fiona Wood on philomel@btinternet.com or tel: 01373 858878.
